Tomorrow in the South Waterfront - Saturday, Sept. 31:

Get Going Oregon! hits the South Waterfront starting at 8:00am. The 5K walk starts at 9:00am.

"Join us October 1st at the Center for Health & Healing (CHH) on the Waterfront, 3303 SW Bond Avenue from 8:00am to 1:00pm for a celebration of healthy living. Kick-off your month long, October 2011, GGO! activity challenge by participating in the non-competitive 5K walk, tap your toes to Salsa, join in on the free Zumba and Yoga classes, and take advantage of free health screenings!


Funds raised will be used to expand the statewide obesity and diabetes prevention and outreach activities led by Harold Schnitzer Diabetes Health Center."

March Wellness Open House from 9am-2pm.





New clothing boutique, Stylefront, is holding a Grand Opening party from 2pm-5pm, serving wine and hors d'oeuvres.

More food carts coming...

Two new food carts are opening on Moody Ave. in the south waterfront very soon, bringing the total to 6. The word on the street is these carts will bring: 1. seafood, chowder, crab;  and 2. fondue.

Stylefront Grand Opening party Oct. 1

Stylefront is holding a Grand Opening Event on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 2:00-5:00pm. Come down and enjoy free wine, cheese and other refreshments while getting acquainted with Jennifer and the others at Stylefront.

In addition, they will be holding happy hour events every day from 4:00-8:00pm during the month of October, with happy hour sales on various items each night.

Do you know who keyed these cars?

A bunch of cars were "keyed" last Sunday, parked on Pennoyer between the Meriwether West and the Atwater (near Rilassi). The cars were parked there temporarily, having been displaced for the day due to re-surfacing going on in the Meriwether parking garage.

This lane is notorious for attracting illegal parkers from time to time, as well as the hyper-vigilant community policing of a few local residents. Recently, a prominent "no parking here" sign was installed.

South Waterfront, Banks of the Willamette
