Portlandia in the South Waterfront

Welcome back, Fred and Carrie!

Portlandia filmed in the area a few weeks back, with scenes shot around the Matisse and in the park.

Yesterday the crew returned, for a very full day of filming. They shot scenes at the Atwater, in the park at our favorite fountain, and in the corridor between the John Ross and the Mirabella.

Last weekend we had a visit from the crew filming some new Mazda commercials. Here are some shots from the filming around our neighborhood on Saturday.

Nike photoshoot in the park

It seems the South Waterfront is becoming quite the popular film and photo setting. A number of photoshoots, commercials, and even TV filming have taken place over the past year or 2.

Nike did a photoshoot tonight in the park around dusk. I didn't investigate closely, but could see the subjects were 2 runners dressed in long sleeves, long pants running gear (perfect for the kind of summer weather we're having).
